How was 2015? Any major highlights?

Well what a loaded question that is! 2015 has probably been one of the biggest years of my life. I found what I thought was love, I lost what I thought was love, I booked a spontaneous trip to Europe for a month, went to 9 countries, caught 11 flights, met my relatives in the Netherlands for the first time which was one of the most intensely emotional experiences of my life, learnt how to love myself, discovered my incredibly ingrained passion for acting, and learnt how to put myself and my dreams first. The growth and development from both a personal and a career perspective has been impossibly amazing. I honestly don’t think I could have asked for much more in a year!

What song have you got on repeat at the moment?

I am utterly obsessed with Keaton Henson. Specifically his album “Behaving” which blends songs together so there’s no real beginning or end. As a musician myself, the way his mind works musically is fascinating to me. Kind of spooky, a little eerie, but absolute soul food.

What’s the most important thing about a guy’s style to you?

Attitude and positive energy first of all, followed by things that are a little left of centre and unique that reflects that guy’s personality. Vintage is always a winner.

What fashion advice do you have for a man?

Personally, I’m more of a fan of the concept of “style” rather than “fashion”… To me, fashion is a trend followed by hundreds or thousands of people trying to fit an idealistic look of the given season, year, etc. Style on the other hand, is completely unique to the individual and is made up of bits and pieces that that person in particular is drawn to.

To me, this makes a person much more fascinating than if they’re simply following a fashion trend – anyone can do that! I’m a big fan of being ok with liking what you like and being proud of that. I think that’s how you attract the people who gel with you best, how you enjoy your life fully, and how you become happy with the life you’ve built.

1 tip to grow your Instagram account

Be active on it! And by that I mean be active with other people and showing a genuine interest in other people and their adventures. Not just posting and hash tagging – ya feel? It’s one of the greatest networking tools there is these days – don’t be lazy with it!

What’s the one thing you never want to see a guy wearing?

Shirts that are three sizes too small. “Des” and “Troy” are going to be pretty apparent as soon as she touches your arm, chest, abs… Keep things interesting. Especially branded, printed t-shirts and singlets with fancy writing or pictures. Sorry folks, but no. Just no.

Worst dating experience you’ve had?

I once went on this FIRST date, that was actually pretty fun, but was completely ruined when he unclipped my bra as we were walking down the street … There’s a time and a place for all kinds of fun activities… Just a little respect, please!

Any major plans for 2016?

I must say, I’m pretty excited about the prospects that 2016 could bring! Mostly, my plans currently revolve around learning, growing and working as hard as I can on the modeling, surfing, music and especially acting fronts – taking as many opportunities as I can and making the most of each of them. I am a big believer in creating your own opportunities and working smart, and hopefully this attitude and my determination pays off!

Learning another language has also been something that’s been playing on my mind for a while now, so Spanish and therefore bilingualism here we come!

Who’s the most stylish man on the planet for you right now?

As a surfer, I’m a massive fan of the whole guys quirky, indie surfer style. Craig Anderson is definitely up there with his chilled out vibes and personalised style both in and out of the water.
