How was 2015? Any major highlights?

2015 was incredible. Since launching my blog this year, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with so many amazing brands, media outlets, PR agencies, and fellow influencers.

Major highlights include: Attending New York Fashion Week twice (February and September), where I was shot by Women’s Wear Daily, and The LA Times, and getting to attend major runway shows including; Rodarte, Rag & Bone, Monique Lhuillier, Thomas Wylde, and more!

Going to Coachella and meeting one of my longtime blogging inspirations, Chiara Ferragni on my birthday also definitely tops the list. Additionally, I had the honour of speaking as a blogger panelist on “The Business of Social Media” at StyleCon, which was an incredible experience.

Lately, I’ve also been doing some really exciting beauty collaborations with Stylewatch Magazine for Ulta Beauty and Sephora, which has been an exciting change of pace for my blog, which began with a primary focus on fashion.

What song have you got on repeat at the moment?

Empire Of The Sun – Alive (Zedd Remix) by Zedd. It gives me life, and helps me wake up in the morning! I kind of love to rock out in the shower.

What’s the most important thing about a guy’s style to you?

An unwavering confidence in his outfit choices. He needs to OWN his look.

What fashion advice do you have for a man?

  1. Invest in a few well-made, high-quality statement items that will add instant luxury to any outfit (i.e. nice shoes, a beautiful watch, and a perfectly tailored suit). They should be “investment pieces” that you’ll have forever, and can easily integrate into your wardrobe along with lower-priced items.
  1. That being said, don’t be a slave to logos. It’s about the quality and style of the clothes and how they fit; first and foremost…NOT about the designer.

1 tip to grow your Instagram account

Consistently churn out beautiful, inspirational imagery with perfect lighting. Easier said than done!

What’s the one thing you never want to see a guy wearing?

A muscle tank outside of the gym. I don’t want to ever see your armpits. Like, ever.

Worst dating experience you’ve had?

Dating in general is kind of the worst, is it not? I went from being in a 8 year relationship, to starting from scratch at the age of 29…and it was like a whole new world of text and social media etiquette that I had to teach myself! I got so distracted by those details, that I didn’t even know what I was looking for anymore. I could write a book on the year of bad dates I went on.

When I finally went on my first date with my now boyfriend, Scott, I mistakenly thought he might be gay simply because he called me on the phone like a gentleman, stuck to plans that we made, and was well-dressed and polite. Compare that to the barrage of bad dates proceeding my date with Scott, and hopefully you can understand my confusion!  Luckily, he asked me to go on a second date. I figured worst case, he could be my new bestie! I gave it another shot, and three years later, the rest is history. Chivalry and decency are apparently hard to come by these days!

Any major plans for the rest of 2015?

Several photo shoots, major 2016 planning for Haute House Flower, and spending time with my family and friends in Northern California (where I’m from originally). Ok, and maybe I’ll squeeze in just a little shopping!

Who’s the most stylish man on the planet for you right now?

My boyfriend (and Haute House Flower’s photographer) Scott. He can mix prints and textures like no one’s business, and his layering game is out of this world. I ask his advice on my outfit choices on a daily basis…which he totally hates, but endures. 😉

What do you have on the horizon in 2016?

I have some really exciting collaborations in the works for 2016! I’m most looking forward to continuing to expand my blog beyond just fashion, and tapping into my other organic interests, including; beauty tips and tricks, as well as home decor.  I’ve also been a fashion and beauty publicist for the past 10 years, so I want to continue to provide expertise to people looking to break into the fashion industry, as well as those that are established.

Whether you’re a fashion industry intern, PR or Social Media professional, or a brand looking to make an impact…chances are, I’ve been there, or know someone who has. I’m also looking forward to lots of travel, including to New York for Fashion Week. I’ve traveled all over the world, and Manhattan is still my favourite city on the planet.
