Most recently we caught up for a quick chat with Instagrammer and freelance photographer, Edwin Rasberg. Having studied music in his higher education, Edwin graduated to find himself without a creative outlet, but since picking up a camera he hasn’t looked back once. Since discovering his new passion, Edwin has gone on to achieve success through his work; gathering a colossal fanbase on Instagram and even getting the chance to work with high-profile brands such as Adidas. To find out more, we asked him a few questions.

Can you tell us a little bit about what you do and when you got into it?
How can this simple question be so hard to answer? I guess it’s because I’ve never really had a clear, structured plan for what I do. I never aimed for something specific. Instead, I’ve always just dedicated myself to things that I really feel like doing. I’ve never forced myself to do anything.
I’m a 22-year-old freelance photographer and visual creator from Stockholm, Sweden. I first started photography back in 2013 when I was 19. I had just graduated from Stockholm Music High School and I suddenly went from being involved with music on a daily basis to doing nothing creative whatsoever. There was no doubt that the artist within me needed stimulation and that was when I found my passion for photography. A void inside me was filled. (I’m also an economics student at Stockholm School of Economics and a Track & Field Athlete, but that’s another story.)
How was 2015 for you? Any major highlights?
2015 had its ups and downs. It was the year when photography became my profession and it was the year when photography became a part of me. As a 22-year-old I’m in a place of uncertainty, you think lot about the past and the future. The world is a messy place and sometimes it’s hard to see things clearly.
Photography has made things easier for me. Together with my camera I can turn the most cluttered environment and thoughts into something completely clear and structured. I can control my vision, choose what I see and how I’m seeing it.
However, overall 2015 has been a great year and I’ve accomplished some things that I’m really proud of. For instance, I collaborated with Adidas Sweden in conjunction with the release of their Tubular X sneakers.
What song have you got on repeat at the moment?
Joshua Radin – Angels. Perhaps the most beautiful melody I’ve ever heard. It speaks to me.
What fashion advice do you have for a man?
When it comes to fashion the most important thing is to wear what you feel comfortable wearing. Confidence is key. If you feel confident with your outfit it’s probably the right outfit for you.
But to be more specific, I really like jackets. You can change an outfit completely by just switching to another jacket. So, invest in jackets!
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be?
When I was younger I was always worried about what others would think of me and my actions. Sometimes this even stopped me from doing things that I really wanted to do. I’ve realised that as long as you feel like you can stand by your actions and you don’t hurt someone, there’s nothing that should stop you from doing it. So, my piece of advice to my younger self would be to not care so much about what others think of you, instead focus on what YOU want.
One tip to grow your Instagram account
The key to grow your Instagram account is to find a way to make it interesting. You want people to be looking forward to your next post. If they do, you’ve come a long way…
What’s the one thing you never want to see a guy wearing?
Insecurity! When people look insecure in their outfit… That’s the worst thing!
Any major plans for 2016?
First of all, 2016 will be the year when I enter the world of sport photography. I’ve been invited to shoot several major international track & field meetings (Diamond League). It’s going to be great!
Secondly, I look forward to doing more modelling jobs. I’ve realised that feel just as comfortable in front of as behind of the camera.
Finally, I’ve also decided to pick up my music. Big things will happen. Stay tuned and follow the events on my Instagram.
What is your one guilty pleasure?
Oh I have several, but my biggest guilty pleasure is definitely french fries! I rate restaurants simply based on the quality of their french fries… When it comes to french fries I certainly have no limit.
Who’s the most stylish man on the planet for you right now?
That’s a hard one, but I really like Jaden Smith. He wears clothes the way I want clothes to be worn. He’s confident, genuine and relaxed.
