At this point, is anyone really surprised that Vetements is still dropping overly-expensive, rip-off sneakers? We certainly aren’t, however, it’s back once more with a £620 alternative to the Vans Slip-On. We’ve got the latest right here at The Idle Man.
Vetements is a brand known for charging extortionate prices for basic items, although there’s no denying that the brand has a very active and loyal fanbase. Earlier this year, Vetements released a sneaker that was basically a total rip of the adidas Stan Smith, and this tactic seems to have been used once more, with the brand’s latest footwear release appearing strikingly similar to the Vans Slip-On.
The pair feature an eye-catching houndstooth pattern, seen here in a red and black colourway. Vetements branding is featured on a tab on the lateral side of the pair, which is a Vans signature feature, and then once again in the form of a spell-out on the rear of each shoe. The look is finished off with a clean white midsole.
The Vetements slip on sneakers have already started arriving at select high-fashion retailers, and will set you back a whopping £620. Will the quality of the pair reflect the price you’ve paid? Probably not, however that won’t stop these from selling out – as we mentioned earlier, Vetements have a very loyal (and wealthy) fanbase.
