After what has seemed like months of adidas Originals teasing us, the brand is finally launching the highly anticipated Kamanda silhouette, which mixes heritage style sneakers with modern technologies. We’ve got the latest right here at The Idle Man.
2018 so far has been quite the year for adidas Originals. Just last month we saw the launch of the brand new Deerupt runner, a silhouette that was backed by a huge marketing campaign globally. Now, the brand has announced the next silhouette set to drop from its roster. The model in question is titled the Kamanda, and it’s inspired by the 1980’s football culture, however also nods to the future.
The main attraction here is that extremely exaggerated sole. It really is a head turner and features an innovative design. The upper is inspired by vintage football silhouettes such as the Samba and the Gazelle. The mix of a futuristic sole and vintage upper doesn’t sound like it’d work, however adidas Originals has pulled it off flawlessly here. Combine this with the inclusion of EVA foam on the sole and premium suede on the upper and what we have here is a great sneaker.
Two colourways of the Kamanda will be launching initially, a deep burgundy and a true black version. If you’re as keen as we are on this silhouette, the good news is that it’ll be available globally via adidas directly and select retailers from this Saturday 28th April. As far as we know the Kamanda is a general release, however keep your eyes peeled for the limited edition C.P. Company collaboration set to drop later on.
