With massive international tours under their belts with slots at Ibiza’s Amnesia, Glastonbury and Exit festival in Serbia, Disciples broke through the deep house scene with their first creation, They Don’t Know. Not only was their debut production quickly chosen as Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune but it also awarded them their first chart hit. However, it was their collaboration with Calvin Harris on How Deep is Your Love that introduced the trio to the mainstream crowds with a bang.

When we found out that Duvall, Luke Mac and Gavin Cool were keen sneakerheads, we had to find out more about their collection. Read up on Duvall’s love for his Adidas Stan Smiths, the sneakers he hates the most as well as his go-to pair for a long DJing session. This is Disciple’s history of sneakers.

Firstly, how long have you been into Sneakers?

From before I (Duvall) could walk. Remember those Nike Air Jordan’s with the pump? And when you squeezed the tongue it used to blow air into your sole to give you more spring? Well, my tongue squeaked instead.

What were the first Sneakers you fell in love with?

White Adidas Stan Smiths. Never took them off.

How big’s your collection, any rare gems?

Luckily we get some gifts from Nike, Puma and Adidas. They’ve been kind to us so our collection is pretty tight. I’ve (Duvall) got some pretty sick Nike Air Max that are pink and grey. Luke Mac’s collection could rival mine though.

What are a couple of your favourite Sneakers of all time?

All black Converse – no matter what you’re doing, you can always count on those to get you through.

Chuck Taylor All-Star Hi

And your most hated?

Anything by Hi-Tech, you’re just begging to get a beating lol.

What’s your favourite brand?

For sneakers, it’s a tie between Adidas and Nike, although we see Puma and Reebok making a nice comeback.

What are your go-to Sneakers for a long set?

Nike Prestos – the most comfortable slip on trainer around. And they look sick.

Nike Air Presto

If you had to pick just one pair for the rest of your life, what sneakers would you choose and why?

The ones we’re going to design. You know they will be out of this world.
