With Junction 2 festival fast approaching, if you’re into techno you should probably get yourself a ticket – that’s if they’re not sold out already. Some of the biggest names on the scene are set to deliver huge sets and we’re certainly looking forward to it. Here’s our top choices from the festival.
The 9th of June sees London play host to none other than Junction 2 Festival. Now entering it’s third year, the festival has been a huge success since it’s initial launch. The awe-inspiring location is definitely worth a mention – have you ever partied under a motorway bridge before? Combine this with the impressive and immersive lineup and you’ve got Junction 2, aka one of the best festivals happening this season.
1. Tale Of Us
As a musician myself, Tale of Us are easily one of my favourite duo’s on the scene at the moment, and the act I’m most excited to see perform at Junction 2. If you’re a fan of dark, mesmerising and soulful sounds it’s safe to say you’re going to enjoy these guys. The pair have a passion for music of all genres stretching back to their early years. Some of their influences include Ludovico Einaudi, Nils Frahm, and Max Richter. If you’re going to be at Junction 2 do yourself a favour and don’t miss these two.
2. Nina Kraviz
The multi-talented Nina Kraviz also appears on the bill for the Hex stage, and we can assure you she won’t disappoint. Hailing from Russia, Nina isn’t just a top tier DJ, but also an exceptional producer, and the occasional vocalist. Once again, from a young age Kraviz was surrounded by music due to her fathers extensive record collection, and after a brief spell of training as a dentist in Moscow, she finally made the move to full time DJ. Since then she’s headlined some impressive lineups and won several awards for her skills on the turntables. Make sure you don’t miss out on this one.
3. Adam Beyer
Hitting the Bridge stage on the day will be none other than Drumcode legend Adam Beyer. He’ll be appearing on the bill alongside another heralded DJ who goes by the name of Carl Cox (who I’ll get to in a minute), and the pair will actually be joining forces for a B2B set to finish the day off – which we’re certainly looking forward to. If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing Beyer in person before, I can assure you that his live persona and stage presence is not something to be missed.
4. Carl Cox
It’s safe to say that Carl Cox is one of the OG’s. The man has been on the scene since it very first started, and certainly knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s held a record breaking 14 year long residency at Space in Ibiza, and continues to headline even the biggest shows around the world. You’ve pretty much got to come and watch him just out of respect. As mentioned above, he’ll be teaming up with Adam Beyer for a striking B2B set to close to Bridge stage at Junction 2 – you’d be a fool to be elsewhere.
5. Mind Against
Our final choice on this list has to go to Italian born/Berlin based duo Mind Against. The pair possess the rare talent of expressing emotion through the sheer sound of deep synths and percussive instruments, I can assure you this set will be mind blowing. Personally I love music that’s slightly on the darker side, and if you’re the same you’re not going to want to miss Mind Against. Catch them on the Hex stage early on in the day.
On That Note
It’s clear to see that the lineup for Junction 2 consists of some seriously big names. There’s also your fair share of new talent as well, which will no doubt make for some amazing discoveries on the day. Combine the fierce lineup with the outstanding location of the festival and you’ve got a match made in heaven. We look forward to seeing you there.
