Can You Tell Us a Little Bit About What You Do and How You Got Into it?
I'm a television presenter, YouTube content creator and social media influencer. Three things I never, in a million years, imagined myself doing. When I was younger my life was made up of rich tea biscuits, a cup of tea and Indiana Jones movies sat in front of the TV. I wasn’t the typical child to go and bomb about on a scooter outside, I was the shyest person, a geeky film addict (still am) with the view of growing up to be a famous director.
When I was 16 I played Handball for the National team (still do) and during a training session I was approached to do a brief interview for a hit CBBC show. Following on from this they asked me to be a guest presenter in the series, which was the inroad to a world I had never considered before. Following this I completed my A levels, and decided to take the leap into the TV world which has led me to where I am today.
If You Could Tell Your Younger Self One Thing What Would it Be?
This is difficult because there’s a list. Don’t play bunk bed penalties with your brother (it doesn’t end well), when mum asks did you have a party just be honest (they find everything out).
Take more risks. I spent a lot of my childhood playing things very safe and following a conventional routine. Not having any confidence in myself or my ideas - no self belief at all. But if I look at my life now at the age of 20, unconventional doesn’t even begin to describe it.
What's Your Favourite Thing About Being a Presenter and YouTuber?
One of my favourite things about them both is being able to have an effect. Whether I present something moving and connect with the audience or do something stupid and make people laugh, that knock on effect and whole idea of presenting is what drives my passion for it. And of course when things come off as a success. It means the world to me to know I am doing people proud and proving that anyone can do what they set their mind to, no matter what walk of life you're from.
What Does Your Average Day Look Like?
Everyday is completely different, it can vary from creating new video content, editing, shooting in studio, production meetings, editing, travelling, castings, catch-up’s, social media managing, and back to editing.
What do You Think is an Absolute Necessity for Any Man's Wardrobe?
Good quality basics. You can create so many combinations and new ‘go-to’ outfits if you have the right basics. Black Jeans, white tees, plain jumpers, black shoes etc. All of these act as a baseline and then by simply adding individual stand out items, you can create a completely different look.
Do You Have any Rituals or Routines That You Live by?
Finding your anchor. In the work I do, I’m normally quite busy and always have to be able to multitask and be proactive. It’s important to make time for yourself, something completely different from what you do. This is your anchor – something which keeps you being you. My anchor is the gym. I try to fit it in most days of the week. (Followed by a nightly packet of Oreos, but I thought I would mention the gym first to sound impressive).
What's Your Favourite City in the World and Why?
London. The views, the busyness, the opportunity, and the food. With such a variety to see, do and eat. Every trip I have into Central is never a dull moment, whether it’s business or pleasure, there is always something new.
What Style Rule is Essential for Men to Know?
Don't be afraid to be different. In order to find what style best suits you, sometimes it means stepping outside your comfort zone. Opening your mind to new concepts and trying - if you’re ‘not sure’ you’ll never know unless you try.
What Advice Would you Give an Aspiring Presenter or YouTuber?
Be original, be you. The only thing that makes your ‘Get to know me’ video or time presenting on television different from the next person, is that you are you and nobody can take that away from you. Lastly, just if you love it work for it and don’t stop, if you wait around at the barbers long enough, you are definitely going to get a haircut. Just make sure the haircut is worth it.
Do You Have Any Exciting Projects Coming Up?
There are a few things in the pipeline, but none that I can yet reveal – follow me on my journey through my socials and YouTube - stay tuned!
