Since 1972, Stan Ray has produced some of the best workwear to come out of Texas. Their clean workwear aesthetic lends itself well to a contemporary wardrobe, while their sturdy reputation guarantees amazing quality that'll last you years. The Idle Man is pleased to introduce the latest collection from Stan Ray.
Like most good heritage brands, Stan Ray comes from humble origins. In the small town of Crockett, Texas, founder Earl Beard was fed up with being laid off from his manufacturing job. As a means of supporting his family, Beard invested in a couple of sewing machines and set to work, creating his own line of workwear. Within a year, Beard had gained a massive following for his sturdy and reliable workwear, and eventually bought the manufacturing factory where he once worked.
Fast forward to the early 80s and Stan Ray had reached as far as Japan, with the fatigue and military inspired pants the height of popularity at vintage markets. Staying true to their original aesthetics, Stan Ray continues to produce well made and reasonably priced workwear.
Stan Ray Pants
Stan Ray's iconic trousers have become renowned for their reliability across America, but it's their contemporary-cool edge that has secured them as a brand to watch. Featuring deep patch pockets, Stan Ray's workwear trousers are ideal for wearing on the street but tailored enough that they can easily be smartened up.
Utility stone and khaki are perfect for sunnier days, while camouflage gives an alternative street look. Pair yours with a simple white tee to let your heritage trousers do the talking, or layer with an open shirt for cooler days.
Stan Ray Jacket
While it might be their work inspired trousers that they're best known for, Stan Ray has delved deeper into utility style with a patch-pocket jacket. Designed in a camouflage print, the jacket hits all the right notes of the summer military trend, with the yellow Stan Ray logo bringing a premium edge while adding a little pop of colour.
As it's 100% cotton, the jacket is perfect for summer, but can also be easily layered over a clean crew neck. Pair with Stan Ray's minimal off-white painter pants to really highlight the statement jacket, or tone down with a pair of slim raw denim jeans for a more subtle take.
On That Note
Stan Ray has long established itself as one of the best workwear brands around, with their clean, minimal aesthetic lending itself easily to so many trends this season. Whether you go for more wearable darker tones or a statement camo, Stan Ray's heritage guarantees no-nonsense legwear that you'll be styling for a long time to come.
