Originally founded in 1947, this Japanese brand has gone on to pioneer the production of great quality jeans throughout the world. Famous for their hard wearing Edwin selvedge jeans, their unique production methods have gained them international acclaim.
Like many brands, for the Spring/Summer 17 season, Edwin have gone back to their roots. By taking classic denim designs and reinventing them with fresh workwear and military styles they manage to present a collection that is innovative as well as classic.
When it comes to jeans it's a good idea to invest in a better quality pair. Edwin have got a great reputation for making heavy duty and hardwearing jeans that still look stylish. I also love the classic straight leg styles that really help them to stand out. Whether you want some black Edwin jeans or some more traditional blue ones, get your hands on a pair of regular tapered selvedge jeans and you'll be set for years.
The minimalist Scandinavian brand Garment Projects was founded in 2013. Despite their relative youth, this stylish trainer label has quickly made a name for themselves across Europe for producing top quality footwear that can be worn in a whole number of different outfits. This season sees the introduction of fresh new shades and textures such as light pink and black suede.
The minimalist style of many Scandinavian brands has become increasingly popular over the last few seasons. Garment Projects are at the forefront of this trend, and it's not hard to see why. Their collection of simple trainers means they can be worn with smart and casual looks. I particularly like the classic lace suede trainers in dusty pink from this season.
The Idle Man
We are extremely excited to introduce our latest range of Spring/Summer 17 clothing. This season we have gone back to basics with a range of bold streetwear essentials alongside simple heritage pieces. By focusing on the modern man we have concentrated on the biggest trends for this year.
Try teaming a traditional corduroy jacket with a denim shirt and some navy chinos for a great heritage aesthetic. The spring season is a great time of year for layering your outfits. Lightweight shirts and jackets make this an extremely easy and stylish thing to do.
This year we wanted to go back to our "style made easy" roots. With a focus on men in the modern world we thought about what they wear on a day to day basis to look stylish. The move towards bold streetwear was inevitable. Our collection of coach jackets and graphic hoodies are perfect for a casual style this season.
On That Note
The Idle Man is extremely excited to introduce the new collections for Edwin, Garment Project and our own line of Spring/Summer 17 clothing. The trend for this season seems to be classics reinvented. By mixing traditional designs with fresh innovation all of these brands manage to offer something new and exciting. Whether you prefer the heavy duty denim of Edwin or the minimalist design of Garment Project, there's something for everyone this year.
