Robert Pattinson has stolen the hearts of many girls, and guys for that matter. We're not sure whether it's the pristine vampire look that is so attractive, or the rough and ready rogue look he sports. So, in this style guide, we will explore both, just for good measure.
I think we can all agree that his role as Cedric Diggory In Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire was legendary, and one that brought him to the nations' eye. However, Robert Pattinson really made his name in the love-it-or-hate-it film series, Twilight. Sure, it's not for everyone, but you can't deny that he made the role his own. In interviews, Pattinson even admitted that he had teenagers all over the world begging him to bite him. Odd, eh?
None the less, over the years, Robert Pattinson has picked up his reputation from a little girl heart-throb to an all age heart-throb, starring in powerful roles in films like Remember Me and Water For Elephants. This feature will look back at his style history, and we'll be telling you how to recreate the looks.
Robert Pattinson Style
Let's start with a throwback to 2008, where Robert Pattinson starred as Edward Cullen in the film series Twilight. Admittedly, he looks extremely pale and therefore, unwell, in these films, but come on now, that's just how vampires look...
The below look is incredibly easy to re-create, and also one that will prove very useful when you know how to pull it off. It's effortless and effective, meaning you can throw it on and it'll suit a lot of occasions. First of all, you'll need a T-shirt. The T-shirt doesn't have to fit the grey, v-neck description of the one below. You could happily opt for a white round neck and still have a similar look. It's a wise idea to invest in a couple of high-quality T-shirts, for this exact reason. If you love to incorporate T-shirts into your outfits, you'll want them to look good and last you a long time. So, if this means you have to spend a few extra pennies, so be it.
A shirt is another versatile garment to own. You can go from a buttoned up formal look to a casual and unbuttoned style like the one below. Fair enough, this won't work so well with a white dinner shirt, but any casual shirt will do the trick. Robert Pattinson layers his shirt over a plain T-shirt- it's almost always safer to go for two plain designs. A pattern over a pattern is a bad idea. If you can't resist a bit of colour or pattern, then keep the T-shirt underneath plain, at least.
We have teamed this look with a pair of navy chinos, but a pair of jeans will look just as good. White trainers will finish off the outfit, for the g0-to casual style.
Edward Cullen Sunglasses
If you have seen the Twilight films, you will instantly recognise this moment below. This may have been the turning point for him, when he whacked out the sunnies, threw his arm around Kristen Stewart and immediately became cool. We all know that feeling of putting a pair of sunglasses on and automatically thinking, or at least feeling like we're the bee's knees.
This style of sunglasses is called the Wayfarer. It's one of the most classic and timeless styles of sunglasses out there, so, naturally, they will successfully accompany most outfits and styles. If you don't want to be splashing out on expensive shades, we have some cheap alternatives that don't compromise the quality for the price.
Robert Pattinson Sunglasses
So, when Pattinson isn't in character, what sunglasses does he usually fo for? Well, that was kind of boring. It seems Robert wears Wayfarers anyway. We have, however, found a picture of him sporting a pair of Ray-Ban Clubmasters, so we'll give him that. Both of these styles are top picks. They're both understated and classic, which is all you can really ask for in a pair of shades. Fun, bright ones may work for selective summer outfits, but it's the classics that you really need to get ownership of.
Robert Pattinson Fashion
Due to Pattinson's formidable good looks, he has managed to bag himself some pretty big deal campaign with some impressive brands. For Spring/ Summer 17, Pattinson became the face of Dior for their moody, and mysterious campaign... we can see why Lagerfeld felt he was the perfect fit. This campaign was shot in the streets of Paris and showed Pattinson in a range of looks from this biker style to a tuxedo. We, at Idle, love a biker jacket. Worn properly, the leather biker can transform an outfit to make you look like you're serious in the fashion game. Here, the jacket is paired with a plain black T-shirt and some black trousers. This look is perfect for date night!
Robert Pattinson Suit
Living life in the spotlight can be a burden, and it'll mean you'd have to get pretty accustomed to wearing a suit. Luckily for Robert Pattinson, he can wear one well. Below, we have selected two of his suit styles; one where he pulls off a bright blue suit, detailed with black lapels, and the other in a grey suit. A blue and a grey suit are handy to have in your wardrobe (as well as a black one, obviously). Pattinson has matched both suits with a crisp white shirt- also a must have in every men's wardrobe. Pulling off a suit is not hard to do, you just need to make sure the fit is right.
Robert Pattinson Beanie
I'd be surprised if you haven't seen Robert Pattinson wearing his accessory of choice- a beanie hat. If you are having a bad hair day (don't worry, we'll get to his hair in a minute) then a beanie is probably a good option for you. Just remember, if you are going somewhere nice a hat should be a general no-go, but for casual wear, they work a treat.
Robert Pattinson Hair
Here we go- Robert Pattinson's hair. We have all heard the rumours that he doesn't wash his hair until it gets to the point where his hair starts to wash itself. I'm not even sure if that's possible, and to be honest, I don't want to know, either. Washing your hair shouldn't be a burden- nothing beats the feeling of fresh locks. You should try not to wash your hair every day though, as this will cause it to go greasy quicker. Try and aim for three times a week (if you use a lot of hair product you I'll let you have four).
Buying the right shampoo can dramatically change the outcome of your washed hair. Get to know what your hair type is, and browse the market for a product that suits it. There is nothing embarrassing at all about a man who knows his grooming products.
How To Get Robert Pattinson's Style
- Robert Pattinson's style is very relaxed. Get yourself a few quality T-shirts in the base colours of white, grey and black.
- To ace his style, you'll need a few pairs of sunglasses. Stick to the classic styles such as Wayfares and Clubmasters.
- A beanie is Pattinson's' go-to hat. These are great for winter and for casual outfits when your hair hasn't quite gone right.
- Learn how to choose a suit that fits you, then buy the suit in blue and grey. (And then wear some sunglasses, but leave the beanie behind).
On That Note
The charm of Robert Pattinson's style is that it is so relaxed that it doesn't take much effort to replicate. He is often seen wearing a T-shirt and a pair of jeans, which is totally fine when you also know how to look sharp in a suit. Try to balance your style, and please, wash your hair!
