Picking an outfit for a club these days is quite the task. With so many different clubs, bars and venues around, knowing what to wear is a challenge in itself. Trainers? Shoes? Blazer? Shirt? Jumper? Jeans? Trousers? We know, we're just as stressed about it as you are. The most important thing is to research the club you're going to. You don't want to turn up dressed for a lounge if you're going to a sports bar, so research is always good. Club outfits for guys is often a difficult one to get right. However, with our simple guide we think that we've got you covered for all bases. From bars to lounges and restaurants to raves, take a look at how you can dress for for the club with ease.

What to Wear to a Club

Men's club attire and men's club clothes might not be as expansive as women's, but there's no reason that you can't make a little effort when you go out. Looking good and spending a load of time getting ready aren't mutually exclusive, and you can easily sort out some nightclub outfits without wasting hours of your life. As long as the fit is right, something as simple as jeans and a T-shirt can look great if you're wondering what to wear clubbing, leaving you comfortable and not overdressed. So, what do you wear to a club?
A biker jacket can be both smart and casual, with a white shirt you'll be sure this is a go to outfit.

Clubbing Shirts

An oxford shirt is something that never goes out of style and is a firm staple in every man's wardrobe. You can keep things classic with a simple white shirt, which will pretty much go with anything, or experiment with a little colour or pattern. Team one with a pair of black jeans and dress it up with some sleek Chelsea boots, or go for a more casual look with some fitted trainers. If you prefer something a little different, a denim shirt is always a good option. If you like your jeans but you don't want a strong double-denim look then opt for a pair of black jeans to achieve a more toned down finish.
A nice Oxford shirt and trousers are a combination that'll get you in anywhere.

Clubbing Trousers

When it comes to your trousers, you've only really got three options; jeans, chinos or trousers. Now picking which one of these options depends entirely on where you are going. I mean, you can't wear jeans if you're going to a posh bar in Mayfair, can you? On the other hand, you can't wear suit trousers if you're heading to fabric (where suits are banned!) so you've got to think logically about your leg wear.

Trousers, chinos or jeans, its gonna be a hard choice but just make sure you get it right.

Nine times out of ten, chinos are going to be your safest bet. They're casual if you roll them up and smart if you leave them down which means you can go almost anywhere in them. Most clubs will let you in with jeans as long as you've got a shirt on, but read up on the club you're going to. There's nothing worse than getting turned away because you don't match the dress code.

Clubbing Shoes

"Nah geez, no trainers. Sorry you're not coming in." Nobody wants to hear those words when you've just arrived at the club with your friends. Shoes are one of those necessary parts of, well, every outfit, and clubbing is no exception. Don't be that guy in the club wearing flip flops or trying to make bare feet the new thing. You want to show people how to dress like a man, not a dick. Obviously, in some clubs there will be footwear rules, where certain trainers or boots might not be allowed, so we'll cover some basic shoes that you could pick and choose from.

Converse can look great with a smarter outfit, or super casual night on the town. If you're going for them though, make sure that they're not at that frayed, scruffy stage. Those can look great with a grungy, relaxed outfit, but not for the club. If that fails, try going for some slim fit trainers in a clean white. They'll go with a whole range of outfits and give off a stylised, slick look without looking too over-polished.

Clubbing Accessories

So in genera,l accessories aren't the kind of things you pile on before you go to a club. Bags, caps, jewellery and sunglasses are just extra baggage and not something you want weighing you down. However, for the sake of convenience, a simple watch can be really handy. It means you don't have to constantly take out your phone to check the time, and that in turn means there's less risk of you getting it nicked.

A nice watch can really carry an outfit. Simple is good but making sure its well made is the main thing. You don't want to spend £40 on a watch and then be replacing the strap every five minutes, its just not economical. A more expensive watch is going to last you a lot longer and, lets be honest, you'll know the difference.

What to Wear to a Bar

So what to wear to a club, men? Inevitably sometimes a trip to a club ends up with a trip to a bar as well. If you're the type of person who ends the night at the pre-drinking stage, without ever getting to the club, then we'll go over some of the outfits you could try out.

When it comes to bars, dress as if you're going for dinner. Trousers and shoes mean you can't go wrong.
Men's club wear tends to fall in the casual style, but when it comes to dressing for a bar you can afford to go for clothes that are a little sleeker. We're not suggesting anything too full on, but replacing your jeans for some slim fit chinos is a nice way to pull an outfit together. Something that's always flattering, easy to accessorise and effortlessly stylish is to match a simple black T-shirt with a pair of chinos and finish off with some Chelsea boots and a classic leather jacket.

Jumpers, jeans and boots mean that you can get into anywhere.

If you'd rather go for a bit more colour, or a slightly more casual vibe, then ignore the chinos situation and just go for some comfortable jeans instead. There's an endless amount of ways you can dress up jeans, but if you're looking for something simplistic and failsafe then try brightening up your look with a few key pieces like bright jeans, a bomber jacket or a simple white T-shirt.
Bomber jackets, white trainers and classic tees means that modern meets vintage.
