Following last week's visit to São Paulo, we continue the My City series with another urban jungle - New York. Home to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Statue of Liberty and Spiderman, we simply couldn't avoid taking a trip to the city that never sleeps.
This week's tour comes from New York City's Deep House duo Walker & Royce and the boys have taken time out of touring the West Coast to give us a guide to their hometown. Walker & Royce's track "Connected" quickly became a house anthem, and further releases have set the stage for a diverse range of sounds from the pair. Check out Walker & Royce's latest release "My Dream" here:
Best place to cure a hangover?
Calexico in Greenpoint (Brooklyn) - Our favourite Mexican spot that started out as a taco truck, everything is good.
Top spot for breakfast?
Mikes Coffee Shop in Clinton Hill (Brooklyn) - Old School NYC greasy spoon diner, it's perfect!
Best bar for a few drinks?
The Woods in Williamsburg (Brooklyn) - This place is a sweaty hipster mosh pit on the weekends but has a really big backyard with food and cheap drinks. We also know all the bartenders which helps a lot.
Best club for a few too many?
Le Bain in the Meatpacking District (Manhattan) - On the weekends this part of town can be a nightmare, cheesy frat boys, stuck up girls falling over drunk, but Le Bain has managed to always keep the music fresh and different, plus you can't beat the view of the city from the roof.
Favourite spot for a coffee?
Mrytle & Marcy Coffee in Bed-Stuy (Brooklyn) - New spot around the corner, amazing coffee and even better pastries if thats your thing.
Favourite restaurant for a dinner date?
Maialino in Gramercy (Manhattan) - A warm and rustic Italian restaurant with amazing food and great atmosphere. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.
