Did you ever want to sit on a toilet made entirely of Louis Vuitton handbags? Well if the answer to that is yes, now you can. Artist Illma Gore has done the unthinkable and made a toilet seat of £15,000 worth of handbags, all from legendary designer Louis Vuitton. We are massive fans and definitely want one for ourselves.
A new Louis Vuitton toilet is now available to purchase for $100,000, so you better start saving. Artist Illma Gore has suddenly become an overnight sensation after curating an art project that has seen her create a toilet which is made entirely from Louis Vuitton handbags.
The toilet is fully-functioning and consists of 24 items of Louis Vuitton gear, including a $3,000 suitcase. Gore sourced each accessory that has been used to create the gold working Louis Vuitton toilet from resale site Tradesy and is currently on show at the Tradesy show room in Santa Monica, Los Angeles.
This is just the latest in a string of designer products and accessories that at first seem bewildering, but actually do become real-life, ready-to-buy things. Take Supreme's brick and Dolce and Gabbana's range of homewear, including a complete range of specially designed Smeg fridges. Recently there have even been a whole host of unusual objects in prep for BBC Children In Need, from a Supreme and Louis Vuitton Pudsey Bear to bear ears from the likes of Fendi, Miu Miu and Burberry.
It seems as though accessories and homeware are the new way forward for a lot of designers, so keep your eyes peeled for whatever is next. Remember the Chanel basketball? There has even been Gucci toilet paper (although this was not endorsed by the brand itself).
The toilet has actually been used, so technically it's second-hand, but all the same, it's a one-of-a-kind item. Fancy giving your bathroom a spruce this winter? Then this is definitely the way to do it (if you have the money that is). Get your credit cards out.
