It's that time again, we're getting to grips with the 18th mix in our series. This time Laurence Guy is in charge and he's keeping it funky.

Anyone that's heard his Bamboo EP, released on Church records earlier this year, has to be impressed with Laurence Guy. If you haven't heard it yet, check out Edelweiss to get a feel for the EP and then go listen to the whole thing! It's without a doubt one of our favourite releases of the year so far.
With this in mind we thought it would be perfect for Laurence to gift us with a mix. It's funky, soulful and definitely something a little different for the mix series, we love it! If you like what you hear, he'll be playing TheseDays at Brixton Jamm. Head to RA for tickets and check his mix and our interview with LG.
Firstly, absolutely loving Bamboo EP, how do you feel about the reaction to it so far?
The reaction has been amazing. The tracks mean a lot to me so it's nice that people have connected with it, especially as they're not big dancefloor tunes.
It's hard to ignore the standard of releases on Church records this year! Tell us about your relationship with them and what's coming up over the next 12 months.
Church have been a complete powerhouse this year, and they're stepping it up with every release. I'll continue to release with them next year for sure, they're a real pleasure to work with and I'm grateful to them for giving me a shot with my first E.P last year!
Tell us a little about the mix.
I've been without turntables for far too long and I've finally got a new pair, so I headed straight to my local second hand shop and bought a stack of amazing records. The mix is basically those tunes (with a few more thrown in), loosely strung together into some sort of order when I got back home.
We're looking forward to seeing you at Brixton Jamm, what can we expect?
At TheseDays, I’ll be bringing a load of tracks that I’m feeling, as well as a few of my own upcoming projects and then trying to hold my own in the company of Frits Wentinck and Andy Hart!
