This week's 'My City' comes all the way from sunny Miami, with a tour guide who dominated British music in the 2000's- Craig David. Now residing in Miami, Craig's new focus is on showcasing fresh and upcoming artists at his unique TS5 shows. Starting as an exclusive party at his Miami penthouse, TS5 has now developed into a worldwide tour and become one of Capital Xtra's top rated radio shows.
With a sell out TS5 show going down last night at Hackney's Oslo and another show due for 16th October at Shapes in Hackney Wick, we caught up with Craig to talk about the birthplace of TS5, Miami.

Where’s the first place you visit when you return home from touring?
I take my car out for a long drive along South Beach and soak up the atmosphere.
Where’s the best place in Miami for a first date?
Tides Hotel is a nice place to eat as it's right on the iconic Ocean Drive strip, but also set back so you're not right in the mix. You can still people watch!
Where’s your preferred place to chill and clear your head?
On my terrace at home. When I look at the beautiful view, I am overwhelmed with positive energy and feel thankful for what music has given me.
Where serves the best breakfast to cure a hangover?
I don't get too many hangovers nowadays, but if I have to go somewhere to relieve one, I'd say Jamba Juice on Washington Ave would be the spot. Great healthy juices and food that won't have you feeling even worse after.
Where’s your favourite place to party?
At one of my TS5 parties in my house. I love the ambience, the people, and the fact that everyone is enjoying themselves without the need for any VIP area's. Everyone is a VIP in my home and there's enough food and drinks for everyone.
Where’s your favourite place to have a quiet drink?
Barton G is great as it's low key, close to where I live, and has a beautiful garden outside.
What’s your earliest memory of your city?
I used to come to Miami every New Years to party until I bought my home in 2009. My earliest memory was shooting a video for 'Fill Me In', I fell in love with this city from that first moment.
What one song sums up your city for you and why?
Black Rob - Woah!
The energy of this song captures the vibrant flow of Miami perfectly. There is always something special going on in this city which will have you like...woah!
Where are your favourite places to shop?
Bal Harbour has some good stores, but to be honest I am an Amazon or Zara guy. Keep things simple.
