We spoke to Swiss DJ duo Adriatique who spoke of their home town of Zurich. They told us where they like to eat and go out and the best places to chill.
Check out the rest of our City Guides.
For this weeks excursion we're off to Zurich, an ancient city in the heart of Switzerland. With its rich history and beautiful surroundings, we need a guide (or two) who know the area like the back of their hand, and, who have a creative streak a mile long.
When Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer met in 2006, they formed an instant friendship that resulted in music duo Adriatique. Maintaining an equal balance between production and DJing, Adriatique forms a connection with its audience, with the duo's belief being that music is meditation.
Where’s the best place for a first date?
The city itself. A drink, followed by a walk through the city by the Zurich Lake.
Where’s your preferred place to chill and clear your head?
At the top of Zurich, or nearby in the woods.
Where serves the best breakfast?
Cafe des Amis or Tea Room (Maison Blunt).
Where’s your favourite place to have a quiet drink?
One of the nice wine bars in the Niederdorf.
Where’s your favourite place to have a messier night?
After dinner I would suggest a drink, probably Gonzo or Kauz. Then depending on your mood and programme you can continue to Zukunft or Hive etc.
How would you describe your city’s style?
Confident, bankish/hipsterish (think I just invented some words here). At the same time clean and cool.
Where are your favourite places to shop?
The Apartment, Booster, 2nd Hand Stores and Mykita.
What song sums up your city?
SKOR feat. EKR & Tinguely "Willkomme in Züri". With a big smile.
