This week we're flying to Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece and the home of musician And.ID.
Raised on jazz and his dad's extensive record collection, And.ID began his musical training at the age of ten, deepening his love of base and soul throughout the years. Since then he's performed in local bands, created music for short films, and produced critically acclaimed albums.
Where’s the best place for a first date?
A nice quiet dinner at Duck Private Cheffing.
Where’s your preferred place to chill and clear your head?
A walk by the sea. It's always good to feel the fresh, Aegean sea breeze.
Where serves the best breakfast?
If there's one thing you need to taste before you die it's bougatsa. It's a traditional breakfast pie filled with sweet cream, or cheese, or spinach, or meat or.... the list goes on and on. In the center of the city there's “Giannis”, which serves the best bougatsa. It's the famous place to go for the early birds.
Where’s your favourite place to have a quiet drink?
Don’t tell Mama is an easy going small bar that's been running for more than fifteen years. Try the margarita and the selection of Greek wines.
Where’s your favourite place to have a messier night?
There's a few bars in the centre like Cocktail Bar, La doze and Thermaikos that are good for a messy night. You'll think you'll just go out for an early drink, but you'll end up watching the sunrise.
How would you describe your city’s style?
Where are your favourite places to shop?
Not many unfortunately.
What song sums up your city?
This one comes from the past, Βασίλης Τσιτσάνης - ‘Ομορφη Θεσσαλονίκη. Translation - Vasilis Tsitsanis - Beautiful Thessaloniki.
