We're traveling to Romania's capital city, Bucharest, with our music producer guide, Ada Kaleh.

Ada Kaleh discovered techno and electro music in the early 90's, beginning to experiment with the genre to form his own unique sound. By layering different sounds, such as organic field recordings and techno beats, he was able to create music with a mood as well as a story.
With all his tracks available on vinyl as well as online, Ada Kaleh takes the music of this generation and redistributes it with a unique mix of modern, classic and experimental beats.
Where’s the best place for a first date?
Depending on one's personality and how outgoing they are, there is something for everyone. Usually, the weather is clear and warm in Bucharest, so a walk in the Cismigiu or Herastrau parks could break the ice. I prefer quiet and cozy places where you can spend time with the lady you want to impress by talking and having a nice cup of tea.
You can Irish up that tea if you're a bit too nervous. I remember the first date with my better half Isabelle was at a tea and coffee place called Aristocats, mostly talking about our childhood, drinking tea and eating "contraband" Kinder eggs.
Where’s your preferred place to chill and clear your head?
I'm a solitary man and I usually relax and clear my head in my own space. But if I want to go out, my first option is always a park (Izvor, Cismigiu, Herastrau). Nature keeps me in balance.
Where serves the best breakfast?
Oh there are quite a few really nice places for a healthy and delicious breakfast. Some of my favourite places are Lente, Simbio, and M60. They have mostly organic and vegetarian menus, but I think they have some options for the meat lovers as well, especially if you want to start up your day with a burger and a pint, ha!
Where’s your favourite place to party?
I used to like heading to Control Club for a night out. Really nice looking place and they've always had a really solid and diverse program... But now with the busy studio and travelling schedule there isn't much room for partying, so whenever I get a free weekend I'd rather spend it with my lady and our cat Fifine, or with some close mates.
What to wear...
Where’s your favourite place to have a quiet drink?
I have quite a few favourite places, depending on the weather and mood. If it's cold I like going to M60 for some delicious brews. It's one of the first places in Bucharest with a non-smoking policy. If I want a bit of noise then there's A1, lots of beers to choose from and a nice food menu. When the weather is nice and warm I like having a drink outside and the places for that are Acuarela and Ceai La Vlaicu and their lovely gardens.
Where are your favourite places to shop?
Ah, this is a tricky one as shopping is my least favourite activity in the history of the universe. It's always a drag for me and I try to keep that to a minimum. I do like to shop for fresh groceries and spices though... and there's a place for that called Piata Obor. They've got everything there.
What song sums up your city?
Does car honking and noisy motorcycles count as a song?
How would you describe your city’s style?
I see it as a mosaic, in all aspects: architecture, restaurants and bars, people, you name it. It's nice to have so many options to choose from, but sometimes it's a bit overwhelming and lacks structure. The city is really vivid and almost never stops, so there's always something you can do any time of the day.
