East London City Guide with DJ's Tough Love

|||||

Tough Love have enjoyed a rapid rise to success within the House scene and they've proven that they're no fad with successful releases on the likes of Toolroom, Off, Nurvous and Dope Wax, as well as featuring on Kiss FM on a weekly basis. They're not ones to become complacent, either, as they are now the proud owners of Get Twisted, a bass driven House label currently making huge waves within the underground House circles.

2015 sees the East London duo expanding further and their first release this year, 'So Freakin' Tight', is due for release 16th March on the mighty Island Records and their own Get Twisted. We thought we'd catch an interview with the guys before this release to have a glimpse behind the music and away from the studio to see where you could find the pair when they're not smashing up the clubbing scene of Europe. Let's take a trip round East London with Tough Love.

Pre-Order 'So Freakin' Tight' here

Best Place to Cure a Hangover

Head to Red Art in Dalston, a traditional Turkish restaurant. Soft lighting inside so your eyes don’t hurt, or sit out on the terrace in summer and catch some sun. Best option is the Red Art Meneman with halloumi, the perfect way to recover from the night before.

Place to Go for One Drink or a Few Too Many

Viva in Dalston is a great place to start.The bar staff there are really great fun & the Mexican tapas menu is amazing. A hidden gem to check out is “Happiness Never Forgets” its on Hoxton square but you wouldn’t know it. Great for nightcap before you head home. If you’re hungry they do a great cheese cake in the restaurant above!

Top Spot for a Coffee

We like to head to Broadway Market on a Saturday, there’s a Vietnamese coffee shop there which will liven you up pronto, Alex had one before a gig last year and couldn't sit still for days!

Where to go for a Working Lunch

We almost always use Forge & Co. Free high speed wifi, food is decent & if you’re in the mood, the beer and cocktail menu is strong. They do a good lunch menu & if you’re a member it's even cheaper on Mondays!

Best Place for a Shave & Trim

Jack The Clipper on Toynbee will sort you out a nice fade and tighten up your beard for just over a score. Proper gents gaff and always a good laugh in there as well. When we’re in our studio, in West London, we check in with Neil & Jamie at Pharaohs barbers.
