DJ Jorge Savoretti's Guide to Rosario, Argentina

|||||||||

DJ Jorge Savoretti is one of the most popular DJs in his home country, Argentina. After a three season stint in El Sótano, one of the country's most influential nightclubs, Jorge began touring Europe and across the globe, quickly gaining fame for his taste in house and electronic music.

We caught up with Jorge to learn more about his hometown Rosario, Argentina. When he's not busy touring the world, you'll be sure to find him at any of these places below.

Best place for a cocktail?

I love a place called Natural Mystic, even though it's like a "chiringuito" and only open during the spring/summer season. It has some nice cocktails, and it's always great to have one barefoot on the beach with an open sky full of stars listening to dub/reggae music (and maybe some house on Wednesdays).

Best place for lunch?

There's this amazing pasta place I go often called Bruno. The Italian heritage is noticeable in Argentina and that's reflected in our food. Considering I might be the only vegetarian in the whole country, this restaurant is my favourite place for a nice food feast. Every dish here is more than amazing. The flan for dessert is also a great tip.

Best place for dinner?

More on the veggie/organic side,  Cadencia and Sana Sana are both great spots, which is always a good info, because you'll easily find good places for meat in Rosario but not vegetarian.

Best venue to hear good music?

There are a lot of options every weekend. Rosario has great house DJs! La Macarena club always had great intimate nights, also Natural Deep on Summer Wednesdays. You'll definitely find the grooves there!

Where's your preferred place to chill and clear your head?

I always like to take a walk around Parque España. It's a super nice park by the river, that's where I can 'sort' my ideas and find inspiration for new music!

Best sunset?

You can see great sunsets (and sunrises) at Los Silos, also you'll find some nice food there (great potatoes and beer).

Earliest memory of Rosario?

Celebrating the 1986 World Cup Victory at Monumento a la Bandera with my dad, while he was driving our Fiat 600. We are football country, couldn't have been any different!

Where are your favourite places to shop?

I don't have many, I like to browse. But there's a furniture one I like a lot called SISU. You'll find great stuff for your apt in there!

Do you have a fact about your city not a lot of people know?

Lio Messi was born here (also Angel Di Maria and many great house/techno DJs). Also the urban legend says that the girls are the hottest you'll find in Argentina.
