Face Mask For Dry Skin

  • Natural masks. Natural remedies are always good and have many benefits for your skin. It's easy to make your own natural face mask with ingredients you can find in the kitchen cupboard. These will rejuvenate and hydrate your skin with the ingredients favouring what you want the mask to work on. This a good way to get the best dry skin face mask.
  • Cream masks. Cream masks have emollient properties that help to soften skin, adding moisture that'll keep your skin hydrated. These face masks for dry skin can be left on for up to 30 minutes or some being left overnight to increase to absorption of the moisture.
  • Hydrogel masks (gel sheets). These Korean based masks are new to the beauty scene and have a lot of benefits. The main difference between a hydrogel mask and your standard sheet mask is the material. The hydrogel mask has a thin gel form and ability to lock in moisture a lot easier. This means the mask is able to deeply penetrate your dry skin with the moisture it needs.

Face Mask For Oily Skin

  • Rubber/peel off masks.  Another Korean skincare product that's developed and popularised into our skin routines is the rubber, aka modelling mask. This is a thick, gloppy substance that once dried and solidified to its rubber state can be peeled straight off. This mask will brighten, hydrate and remove any antioxidants on your skin and by pressing itself onto your skin in its heavy-duty form, your skin has no choice but to absorb it.
  • Clay masks. These masks absorb excess oil and the natural sebum to leave the skin feeling balanced and smooth. It can also help to unclog pores and if used on a regular basis it can improve the circulation of the skin, removing dead skin cells and giving your skin a healthy glow.
  • Exfoliating masks. Exfoliating is an important step when it comes to wanting clear and smooth skin as it removes impurities and oils that may make your skin look shiny and oily. An exfoliating mask will be able to penetrate the skin to remove and balance out your skins natural oil content.

Face Mask For Blemished And Acne Prone Skin

  • Clay mask. A clay has detoxification properties which allow it to remove any impurities that may be on or in your skin. The deep cleanse draws out these impurities and soaks up all the dirt your face accumulates during the day. By cleaning the pores and giving the skin a smooth appearance, it's less likely that you'll be suffering from severe acne or blemished issues.
  • Exfoliating mask. Again, the exfoliating mask will be one to use if you have problematic skin. A deep exfoliation will help to unclog pores and remove excess oils which ultimately contributes to any breakouts.

Best Clay Mask

Clay masks can be used for a number of skin types as the clay properties within the mask act as a deep moisturiser which hydrates and removes (and absorbs) any excess oil while also containing vitamins and minerals. This, therefore, helps to balance out the natural oil content and keep your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated for longer. Clay masks come in a variety of colours and have different mineral contents so when buying your clay mask check if it's suitable for what you're after. If you have fairly sensitive skin it's best to opt for a clay mask that has some kind of cooling agent in it like aloe vera as this will help to minimise any inflammation.

Always apply the clay mask to a washed and slightly damp face with the mask covering the entirety of your face. The coverage shouldn't be too thick as this may take longer to dry. As like anything you put on your face, avoid contact with eyes and make sure to check that the clay mixture isn't going to react with your skin and become irritable. The mask can be washed off with warm water and it's always a good idea to moisturise after as this will lock in the moisture leaving you with better, hydrated skin.

Face Mask For Ageing Skin

  • Water sleeping masks. Overnight masks are very beneficial for ageing skin as the moisture is able to deeply hydrate and recharge your skin cells. The mask will usually quickly absorb while you sleep meaning you can wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
  • Thermal masks. This is a very common spa treatment that's filtered out to be available in our own home. The masks usually have many natural ingredients making them healthy and safe for your skin. They nourish and tighten the skin cells enabling them to fight all kinds of unwanted wrinkles or lines giving you a radiant glow.
  • Peel off masks. Peel off masks are able to tighten the skin by stimulating the blood flow and supply. These also work well to remove dirt and cleanse your skin which helps to keep you looking healthy and revitalised.
  • Vitamin C masks. Vitamin C, also known as the beauty vitamin, helps your skin in many ways. Using a vitamin C facial mask will allow your skin to highly absorb the goodness and keep your face looking plump and refreshed. This vitamin C will help boost collagen production and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Collagen is one of your skin proteins that helps with the structure of cells and tissues. It also contributes to keeping the skins strength and durability younger for longer.

What Are The Different Types Of Face Masks?

  • There are so many. There are so many different types of face masks around. They all have different ingredients which benefit different problems.
  • Homemade. Consider making your own face mask. This way, you will know exactly what ingredients go into them.
  • Exfoliate. We recommend you exfoliate prior to using any face mask so that your face is clean and your pores are open.
  • Moisturise. Don't forget to moisturise after you've used a face mask to lock in all of the goodness.
  • Patch test. Whenever you use a product for the first time, be sure to carry out a patch test to ensure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients.
