Blue Ribbon Sports
Company

The partnership of Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman produced low cost, high technology athletic shoes under the name of Blue Ribbon Sports (BRS). This made them more accessible to a wider range of the population. The marketing of new designs and technology lead to the change in the name to the brand we know today as Nike.

Fun Fact

Nike was nearly named "Dimension 6"and their slogan "Just do it" was based around US criminal Gary Gilmore saying "let's do it" before being lead to his execution.
